• Identify how their views of writing have changed as a result of the work they have done in the course

• Explain what you have learned from being a novice in new writing situations, and describe how these experiences, which might include failure, contribute to your willingness to accept new challenges as a writer.

• Evaluate the ways in which you have become a more reflective (mindful, self-aware, thoughtful) writer.

• Responsibility is fostered when writers are encouraged to recognize their own role in learning.

• Metacognition is fostered when writers are encouraged to reflect on the texts that they have produced in a variety of contexts.

Warm Up - Peer Review

This warm up will take slightly longer than usual.

​

Share your Portfolio Reflective Overview with a classmate and give feedback to the classmate you exchange with. Make sure you answer the following questions:

 

-Did the writer meet all of the requirements of the assignment?

-What information could be more fully explained? (Do not answer this with "everything is explained" - find some place that the writer could go into more detail on.

-Does the writer have three distinct pieces of evidence for each of the learning outcomes they have chosen?

-Point to an explanation that is particularly effective and explain why you think it is effective (please answer in paragraph form)

-For each of the writer's learning outcomes, suggest another habit of mind you think could be used to support their evidence & explanations

Please use the remainder of class time to work on the assignments you have due today.
